Covenant Therapy Group is currently seeking an Associate Therapist to provide individual, couple, and/or family therapy at our thriving practice. As one of the leading group practices in the D.C. Metropolitan area, we specialize in treating individuals, couples, and families with mental health and relationship issues across the lifespan. The practice was awarded the “Best Practice of Upper Marlboro” award in recent years. Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapists (LGMFT), Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapists (LCMFT), and other licensed clinicians (LGPC, LCPC, LGSW, LCSW, Psychologists) in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia with training in couples and family therapy, family systems, relational therapies, and trauma are preferred. This is a 100% remote contract position. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required. 

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a Masters or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology

  • Has a minimum of a Master’s level license in a mental health field and has either a graduate level license (LGMFT, LGSW, LGPC) or a full clinical license (LCMFT, LCSW-C, LCPC) in the state of Maryland, Virginia and/or District of Columbia

  • Has a minimum of 2 years of face-to-face therapy experience with individuals and couples (graduate school clinical hours accepted)

  • Enjoys working with individuals and couples

  • Preference for clinicians with advanced training in couples and family therapy, family systems, relational therapies, and trauma

  • Is able to commit to a minimum of 5 clinical hours per week

  • Is effective at maintaining case records and documentation

  • Is culturally competent to work with clients of color, LGBTQIA2S+ and other indigenous groups

  • Is comfortable with honoring and incorporating faith-based practices with clients

  • Values collaborating with a team of professionals

Responsibilities + Duties

Conduct thorough initial assessments, create treatment plans, and establish goals with prospective clients

Provide consistent, timely, therapy sessions for your designated client caseload

​

Keep clear, organized, and accurate case notes

Use evidenced-based treatment models and interventions

​

Understand and utilize emergency protocols for suicidal, homicidal, or at-risk clients

​

Exercise freedom to develop clinical tools, materials, and services to further enhance care coordination

​

Focus primarily on clinical work (no client scheduling or insurance paperwork required)
